We Should Believe God -- Christopher Fischer

Updated: Sep 9, 2020

We were first exposed to Ernie Knoll in January or February, 2008. We were introduced to his dreams by some SDA neighbors who were in contact with him.

After a few months, in the summer, Ernie and Becky came to Grangeville, Idaho and held meetings at the public school gymnasium. It was at this time that we had what should have been taken as concrete evidence of his perversity. Namely, his insistence on hugging all the women.

"When one who claims to be teaching the truth is inclined to be much in the company of young or even married women, when he familiarly lays his hand upon their person, or is often found conversing with them in a familiar manner, be afraid of him; the pure principles of truth are not inwrought in his soul. Such are not workers with Jesus; they are not in Christ, and Christ is not abiding in them. They need a thorough conversion before God can accept their labors." {2SM 29.3}

Also on this visit, he told us of how they always annointed the doors of windows of the hotel rooms with "professional grade" anointing oil, to protect themselves against evil spirits. And, when some requested annointing for physical health reasons, he initially brushed it off as "unnecessary," and then went on to officiate in the service, sharing his pricey perfume as annointing oil. (I can't remember if it was frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, or which combination.)

As time went on, we were led through the fables of Candace, the Great Commission Council, and other things. Ernie was very much obsessed with amassing large quantities of cash. He had the ministry treasurer purchase a fire-resistant gun vault, which he was required to systematically fill with cash from the bank.

He made it plain to us, that he was not in need of our financial contributions, because he had his hands in deep pockets (at least some of which were connected with Kettering, Ohio medical interests) that could contribute a million dollars easier than we could give one dollar.

He specifically made use of "Candace" to obtain the nicest, newest vehicles for ministry use; they stayed in high-end hotels, ate out at high-end restaurants, and in addition to ministry perks, extorted a salary of $50,000 per year from a reluctant Board. This is in stark contrast to Ellen White, who always sought to economize, often endured real privations, and generally did not eat at restaurants, to save money while traveling.

Late 2008, he started--slowly and gradually--working on us with his new "dress reform" ide-as-- that women should wear pants, sleeveless tops, no bras, no panties. He even starting talking about how toplessness for women would be appropriate. Later reports, after we parted ways, were even worse. (Mini-skirts with no underwear, that we need to become accustomed to toplessness, nudity, etc.)

Early in 2009, he had a group of us working on a document called "The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth." I was asked to specifically gather information related to apostasy, spiritualism, and tithe. As the result, I delved deeply into the Inspired writings, as well as researching into such things as Kingly Power in the church (which is directly connected to mind control, spiritualism, and Jesuit Spiritual Formation). This intense exposure to the Word of Truth paved the way for the sudden and shocking split. The connection with the others in the ministry gave me a first-hand opportunity to see the corruption as it blew up in our faces.

At some function during the early summer of 2009, a group that included Board members and others who were working on the document, were horrified when Ernie started bragging about perversions of the marriage relation that "Jesus" was teaching him in the dreams. This started an investigation.

In this investigation, it was discovered that the e-mails that we were all getting from "Candace" were all originating at Ernie's IP address.

The investigation was kept quiet, until several of the board members were able to pay Ernie and Becky a visit, and confront them with the facts that had been discovered. When they did, they searched the vehicle as well as the apartment, and confiscated immense (but unspecified to me) amounts of cash.

Ernie directly and specifically confessed that the dreams are "NOT FROM GOD", that he is a fraud, and that he had concocted the character of Candace, and the Great Commission Council.

However, after a few weeks of shock, he moved on, started a new ministry (the original one was dissolved by its officers), and carried on in virtually continuous motion promoting his dreams.

Now, I see that "the document" (The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth) is being published on the front page of Ernie's website. I don't know if my work was utilized or not, and do not care. We have not read any more of his dreams, have severed all connection with him and his work, and wish for the whole world to know that he is a false prophet.

Matt. 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

"In every age false prophets have been the most dangerous enemies Christianity has had. Men have appeared who claimed to be champions of truth, professing to have a great burden for the souls of their fellow-men. But they taught false doctrines, and perverted the truth. The spirit they manifested, the work they wrought, testified to the character of their religion. Such men have arisen and do arise, and will continue to arise, in our own day. They will criticise, judge others, will be always ready for controversy, and will resist the truth. They will put false interpretations upon the Scriptures. They will misstate the words of those who advocate truth, and some who listen to them, who do not have spiritual discernment, will be misled by these false teachers, and be found fighting under the black banner of the adversary of God and man." {ST, July 18, 1892 par. 2}

Never forget that in dealing with these false prophets, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against wicked spirits.

Be not afraid of him. Go not forth to tamper with the enemy. We were under the spell of witchery for a year and a half. We thank God that almost all who went through the experience with us in the summer of 2009, were delivered from the delusion, and pray for the deliverance of every honest soul who may have been led into danger by our influence during that time.

Remember that Eve, in Eden, was not condemned for believing the serpent. Her sin was in disbelieving God.

"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." Prov. 29:25. "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." Prov. 18:10.
